“Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it” —Lao Tzu. Water in all of its forms connects, supports, and reflects human life. Marvel in the power of water with Water Works, a concert filled with musical numbers from opera, art song, and musical theatre. Rippling with pieces by Schubert, Copland, Mancini, and more, the evening flows into the poetic and musical rumination “Water Memory,” a new Utah Opera commission from librettist Leah Lemm and composer Andrew Maxfield on the role of water in our lives.
