Monotasking, is the practice of dedicating oneself to a Single task, project or idea until its completed or a set amount of time defined by you has elapsed. When you monotask, you are able to focus better on each task and can get things done more efficiently which helps to increase your creativity, energy, and focus.
When you multitask, you overburden your brain with switching from one task to another. Which can actually slow down your progress. When you monotask, you are able to focus better on each task/project and can get things done more efficiently leaving more time to be creative. It also incorporates body-doubling.
Body-doubling & Monotasking combines community with productivity in a way that works. It’s simply having another person in the room with you, working quietly alongside you. They can work on something similar, or something completely different. The presence of another in the room with you is what matters.
Body doubling while monotasking helps Neurodivergent, people with ADHD, or people who just need some light accountability to complete tasks they tend to avoid.
A monotasking is a timed 2 hours session every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month located either at The Bonneville Space or The Monarch in Downtown Ogden.
The first 5 mins of the session will be dedicated to Intros & intentions then the timed session will begin. We will spend 1 hour in quiet task mode breaking at the halfway point to readjust any needs then we begin again for the last hour.
Drop-in for an hour or stay in the flow for the second hour.
